K9 Memorial
Supporting K9 units nationwide since 1998.
how we help
The National Police Dog Foundation’s K9 Memorial Fund has been set up to assist Law Enforcement Agencies who are not only grieving from the loss of one of their K9 officers but also who do not have the funds to replace the K9s.
Each year dozens of K9s who are our first line of defense, fall in the line of duty.
We assist in covering the costs directly associated with:
-
The replacement of K9s and related training can cost as much as $25,000.00 per K9 to be street ready
-
The Annual Police K9 Memorial Service during Police Week in Washington, DC
As part of the official events of Police Week in Washington, DC, the National Police Dog Foundation hosts the annual National Police K9 Memorial Service. The memorial service includes a wreath and rose laying ceremony to honor the memory of fallen police K9s who have given their lives in the line of duty.
The event is held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, 450 F St. NW, Washington, DC, to remember the contributions and sacrifices of our fallen K9 Heroes.
In honor of Police Week, the National Police Dog Foundation showcases our appreciation for these fallen K9 heroes by honoring them with this beautiful ceremony. A certificate of remembrance is also given to each handler or department for their fallen K9.
Please donate to our K9 Memorial Fund that supports law enforcement departments and their K9s who selflessly put their lives on the line for us every day.
